Eight-Time World Champion Stetson Wright Inches Closer to ProRodeo Return

Wright will not be in Reno, but should be geared up and ready to go soon

Eight-time World Champion Stetson Wright is nearing his return to the rodeo arena, but his mother says that he is not quite there yet.

“He wants to come back 100% and doesn’t feel like that’s where he is at just yet,” his mother Sharee said. “He’s really bummed and so eager to get back out there and will definitely keep you posted when that time is.”

Wright pulled out of the NFR in Round 2 and had surgery on December 20 to address a hamstring and hip injury.

Post-surgery, he was confined to bed for six weeks and then spent another 12 walking with a cane.

Wright told ProRodeo.com that he is trying to get the scar tissue broken up and getting his full range of motion back.

“I’ve been on a bull and a horse. Everything is looking up at this point,” he said on June 21, “and we’re set to return here in maybe a week or two.”
