Stockton Graves Moves to Lead in Average in Salinas

Stockton Graves is putting on a clinic in Salinas. After a first-round time of 6.8 seconds, he threw one down in 5.6 seconds, the fastest time of the rodeo so far. Graves also leads the average at 12.4 seconds, nearly two full seconds clear of second place.

Graves mentioned how difficult Salinas can be and what needs to happen to create a great run like his.

“There’s a lot of variables, first you have to score good then you have to draw good then you got to do good. You kind of got to put it all together, it’s a real fun rodeo.”

Among all of the accomplishments, Graves has in his career, a win at Salins is not yet on his resume.

“I’ve always wanted the Salinas buckle. My daughter, she told me this week that she learned to do a backflip so I had to win something. She sent me a video today, she did a backflip so I had to win something.”

Graves is currently number 28 in the PRCA Steer Wrestling World Standings.
