If you tuned in last night for the XTreme Bulls Tour Finale in Rapid City, you may have noticed that there was one guy missing from the roster.
Reigning college saddle bronc riding world champion and leader in the race for the 2020 Resistol Rookie of the Year title, Riggin Smith was replaced in the lineup, unable to compete.
Riggin is currently No. 22 in the PRCA | RAM World Standings and has looked determined to get to his first NFR this year — and winning a chunk of money at the XTreme Broncs Tour Finale could have helped him do just that.
Unfortunately, Riggin announced that he will not continue with the season after receiving the results of his MRI on August 26. The young bronc rider tore the PCL, MCL and meniscus in his right leg at the Northwest Montana Fair and Rodeo in Kalispell during a rough dismount from Cervi’s Wyatt Earp.
