The WCRA’s Women’s Rodeo World Championship is underway. Until Sunday, Nov. 15, the best breakaway ropers, barrel racers and team ropers in the world are taking center stage.
Monday marked the first day of competition at the Will Rogers Coliseum and overall, there are 254 cowgirls from 27 states competing, 14 of them are entered in all three events.
The championship progression begins for all disciplines on Nov. 12 with the Final 6 in each competing at AT&T Stadium between Nov. 13 and 15 in conjunction with the PBR World Finals.
The total payout is $750,000 and the winners in each discipline will be guaranteed $60,000. WCRA President Bobby Mote says this is the first Women’s Rodeo World Championships, but it will not be the last.
