Featuring the top saddle bronc riders in the world facing off with stacked roster of NFR bucking horses, last night’s XTreme Broncs at Rodeo Rapid City had fans on the edge of their seats from start to finish, with unexpected to buck offs and scores in the high 80s.
One of the most anticipated matchups of the night: 4X NFR qualifier Cole Elshere and 5X NFR bucking horse Onion Ring from the Korkow Rodeos. And it did not disappoint. In Section 4 of the XTreme Broncs event, Elshere went 90 points on Onion Ring to take, and keep, the lead. When the dust settled, he earned himself the championship title along with $4,145 in prize money.
Taking second was Brody Cress with an 88-point ride on Bailey Pro Rodeo’s Rip Cord, and in a three-way tie for third were Ryder Wright on Bailey’s Capone, Joe Harper on Bailey’s Spider, and Spencer Wright on Sutton’s South Point, all scoring 87 points.
