Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo CEO Chris Boleman addresses cancelation on WSR

Following the announcement of the cancelation of cancelation of RodeoHouston, president and CEO Chris Boleman joined Western Sports Roundup to talk about why the decision was made.

Boleman said since last summer, he and the rest of the committee had worked through about 10 different scenarios that could make the rodeo possible, but ultimately “a little bit of everything” not one particular thing lead to RodeoHouston being called off for 2021.

“We have to make tough decisions for the health and well-being of the community,” he said. “What I’m proud of is we exhausted every effort to do what we could do.”

The event was originally postponed until May.
