It was an exciting weekend of action at the Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. After three days of competition, the champions were crowned.
The Wild Card saw Cole Cameron, legend Craig Cameron’s son, win with a final score of 1380. Cameron edged out Wylene Davis and Craig Moore to win the Wild Card title. Wylene Davis finished with 1319 points and Moore rounded out the top three with a score of 1273.
After his final performance, Cole had to sit and wait for the other competitors to finish up, “I’m not going to lie after I went, I went outside and decompressed for about an hour and came back in as my dad was coming into the arena.”
This was an especially special title for the Cameron family as this was Craig Cameron’s last year competing, making way for Cole to continue the family’s run of success at Road to The Horse. Craig went out to a standing ovation saying, “I won’t forget you, I hope you won’t forget me, I love you.”
It was a tight race for the World Championship race, but ultimately it was 2019 Wild Card Champion Wade Black who captured his first World Championship. Wade posted a final score of 1417 beating Ken McNabb who finished with 1373 points and Craig Cameron who finished with 1300 points.
“I’m blown away. Beyond happy. So fortunate and blessed. The horse, I struggled with him all week as far as getting tight and bound up in terms of not wanting to move. Prayers were answered, he is still tight I think he is kind of hurting but we were moving forward.”
