Stetson Wright has already won three Gold Buckles in his career and last year’s bull riding and all-around World Champion is making more money in the bronc riding this year.
Stetson is No. 2 in the world and has already earned more than $73,000. He’s about $12,000 behind his brother Ryder and the two Wright brothers are head and shoulders above the rest of the field as Dawson Hay is No. 3 with about $47,000.
Stetson has done it with a mix of consistency and big rides when it matters most. He has the highest riding average of his career at 83 percent so far this season and his average score of 85.36 is also the best he’s ever had. Stetson’s big wins have come at the Veater Battle of the Best where he won more than $20,000 last weekend, the San Angelo Cinch Chute Out where he collected a $7,500 check for his win and $25,000 for finishing second at RFD-TV’s The American in early March.
Overall, Wright has made more this year on bucking horses than he has bucking bulls and has a large cushion in the All-Around race.
