Shane Hanchey has been to 11 Wrangler NFRs and is currently No. 1 in the PRCA Tie-Down Roping World Standings.
On Western Sports Round-Up last week, Justin McKee gave Shane Hanchey, an avid sports fan, a chance to put on his analyst hat.
Hanchey broke down what has made World No. 3 Kyle Lucas and No. 8 Kincade Henry so good this season.
Hanchey says he knew Kyle Lucas would be around for a long time after the pair battled in out the 2018 Canadian National Finals Rodeo.
“Once he realized he could win down here in the states, it’s almost like he took off,” Hanchey said. “This year, he’s been rolling.....He’s just been making really good, smart runs.”
As for Henry, Hanchey says the 19-year-old reminds him a bit of himself.
“People don’t realize how fast he is until they call the time out,” he said. “He don’t have any wasted motion......He’s a big, strong kid and he’s starting to realize that.”
