By the numbers: Saddle bronc rider Brody Cress

Saddle bronc rider Brody Cress is currently No. 6 in the world thanks to his performance two standalone bronc riding events in May.

This past weekend at Back When They Bucked in Deadwood he earned $2,700 for his Long Round win on Spanish Onion. He was marked 87.5 points.

Two weeks prior, he was 89 and 87.5 at the Miles City Xtreme Bronc Ride and he earned $4,657 for his 89-point ride on Outlaw Tunes. Before he got hot in Miles City, Cress had bucked off three of his previous six horses and hadn’t been marked higher than 82 points in the month of May.

Cress, who has won the NFR Average twice, currently has an average score of 84.62, which is the highest of his career. He has already won seven Go-Rounds in 2021 and that ranks third in the PRCA behind Ryder Wright and Stetson Wright, who are No. 1 and 2 in the world.

Cress has won a total of $32,012 this year.
