Saddle bronc rider Sage Newman after winning Pool A at Calgary Stampede

Sage Newman won $18,500 in the first four days of the Calgary Stampede and placed in the Top 3 on all four days of Pool A.

Newman finished second on Day 4 after being knocked out of the top spot on Chase Brooks’ re-ride. Overall, Newman made four rides of 85.5 points or better.

“The second was really good, pretty fast, snappy, felt good,” he said.

He will be joined on Championship Sunday by Zeke Thurston ($12,000), Kolby Wanchuk ($10,250) and Logan Cook ($9,250).

“I feel great, I’m drawing good like I say and don’t want to slow down,” Newman said.
