Taylor Santos drove thousands of miles, including a trip from California all the way to Maine to make it back to the National Finals Rodeo. Taylor sat down with Jeff Medder’s on The Road to the NFR to talk about his incredible journey to the 2021 NFR.
Santos knew he had to earn more money to make the NFR and told Medders, “It was kind of leave it all on the field mentality I guess.”
Taylor did the math and knew exactly what he needed to do.
“The first night it was getting hectic. The math that I had done on paper I had to win $275.29 to get it done, and even after that first night, there was a little confusion... I had a lot of phone calls to my mom and Joe Beaver and we were making sure all of our math was the same.”
In the final days of the season, Santos won just over $1,000 in Cumberland, Maine to secure his 15th position and a second career NFR appearance.
