Zeke Thurston got Bracket 3 rolling with a big win on Cervi Championship Rodeo’s High Rolling Sidney. It was an 87.5-point ride for the World Champion on a horse that is normally in the bareback riding.
“She’s really electric, a little wild, and bucked hard. I feel like I made a pretty good ride,” Thurston said.
Although he is a Canadian, with the winter rodeos mainly being held in the south, Thurston and his family have a winter home in Texas. It can make San Antonio like a second hometown kind of rodeo for the saddle bronc rider.
“We got a little winter place so we come down and stay… it’s a good area and I love this rodeo,” he said.
Stetson Wright ended up second with an 87, Jake Watson was third with 84.5 and it was a three way split for fourth between Treyson Antonick, Jacob Kammerer and Riggin Smith all bringing in 82.5 points.
