Dusty Tuckness Talks About the Challenges of Coming Back from Injury

As Dusty Tuckness is recovering from a gruesome leg injury sustained in Round 9 of the 2021 NFR, he has had to rely on his mental strength and faith during the rehab process.

“It’s such a mental game, rodeo in general, especially when you had an injury like I had, where it was physically easy to see that there was something not right, it can definitely play with you,” Tuckness said. “I know who God is and what he’s done in my life and what he’s capable of doing, this is just part of my story.”

Tuckness added The Cowboy Channel can be a blessing and a curse because it’s great for him to see all of his buddies out rodeoing, but it makes him wish he was out there as well.

“It doesn’t matter what life hands you, you still got to put your best foot forward, work hard and keep your nose to the grindstone,” he said. “I’m really exciting to be back.”
