The Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo began in 1933 and has grown to be a popular event for athletes around the country. The rodeo will kick off May 2nd in the heart of the Oklahoma panhandle.
Ken Stonecipher, Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo Production Manager and Announcer is preparing for this event and plays a large part in the success of the rodeo.
Oklahoma Panhandle State University will take place the week begore Pioneer Days Rodeo begins, only ten miles down the road in Goodwell. During these ten days, Ken describes Guymon as, “Rodeo Town USA”.
With around 950 contestants spending the majority of the week in the small town of Guymon, this event has a large economic impact each year.
Frontier Rodeo is the primary Stock Contractor for Guymon Pioneer Days, and this has greatly contributed to the reputation this rodeo has for having an exceptional group of animal athletes.
Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo will take place May 6th through the 8th.
