Paige Lawrence-Champion has launched her very own course for rodeo cowboys and cowgirls that focuses on the mental side of the sport. You might recognize her last name, she is married to seven-time National Finals Rodeo bareback qualifier, Richmond Champion but she is an athlete all in her own. Champion went to the 2014 Olympics in figure skating before she retired to become a high-performance coach.
Champion saw that the hunger and motivation in top rodeo athletes to sharpen their mental edge was something that she could help with.
“… Because I truly believe that your mindset is such a key pillar of performing at your best, I decided to create a course that covers some of those fundamentals,” Champion said.
Champion has worked with athletes like Hailey Kinsel, Tim O’Connell, Luke Branquinho and more, quite literally working with World Champions and some of the top, highest ranking athletes in rodeo.
“They’re the type of people that realize that if there’s a stone left unturned in their career, they really want to get under that stone to find an edge in their competition,” she said.
Champion focuses on the little things that some might not think are important, things that she says can be a key player in the kind of results that one can have. To sign up for her course, click here.
