Tim O’Connell Wins Third Buckle in Cheyenne

Tim O’Connell added his third career Cheyenne Frontier Days title to his resume on Sunday after going 88.5 points in the finals. O’Connell joked that he may need to start calling Wyoming home after all of his success.

“I’m thinking about buying some real estate here in Cheyenne here now.”

While it is O’Connell’s name on the leaderboard, he knows it isn’t just him who won that buckle.

“I got people that are pushing me mentally, spiritually, physically. It is not possible, it’s not a one-man show out here. I got a village of people, they know who they are and I love them for everything they do for me.”

O’Connell doesn’t take anything for granted even after his third title in Cheyenne.

“This is everything that a little boy wants to do is grow up and compete here and to have three saddles and three buckles that say you’re the champion, I’m just so humble and thankful to my lord and savior Jesus Christ.”
