As the rodeo in Guyman, Oklahoma begins, we reflect on past winners and look forward to what the athletes will bring this year.
The reining champs in Barrel Racing, Jordan Briggs and Hailey Kinsel, tied with a two-head average time of 34.65. The two cowgirls went on to complete in the 2021 National Finals rodeo, with Jordan taking home the World Champion Title, and Hailey coming in at a close second.
Wade Sundell took home the win in Saddle Bronc Riding, after making an 89-point ride on Dakota Rodeo’s Jimmy. After he suffered from an injury while in Las Vegas, he made his return and his now working on climbing the standings.
Nelson Wyatt and Levi Lord left Guymon as the Team Roping leaders with an average time of 21.3 seconds of three head.
The Bull Riding was as competitive as it gets with Laramie Mosley taking the top spot with a 91-point ride on Frontier Rodeo’s County Jail. Laramie was injured in the Fall of 2021 and is currently working on making a comeback.
Guymon Pioneer Days will be taking place May 6-8.
