Taylor Hanchey Makes Third Trip To Vegas But First Trip in the Breakaway

Taylor Hanchey made history this year by becoming the first woman to qualify for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in two different events. She did not make the NFR in two events in the same year but she has qualified in the barrel racing and now the breakaway roping.

Some knew her as Taylor Jacob, now she is Taylor Hanchey, and in 2013 she had an incredible horse named Bo. They duo set an arena record that year with a 13.37 second run in the Thomas and Mack in round six. They also won rounds three, four and seven on top of winning the Resistol Rookie of the Year. Hanchey returned to the NFR in the barrel racing in 2015 placing in five out of ten rounds and finishing the year ranked no. 7.

Hanchey is returning to Las Vegas this year in the breakaway roping. She may not be in the Thomas and Mack but she will light it up in the New Orleans.

Her husband is no. 1 tie-down roper Shane Hanchey so the Hanchey presence in Vegas will be huge. Watching both Taylor and Shane compete in their respective events is going to be fun.
