Team Roper Coleman Proctor Talks Eighth NFR Qualification, Heisman in the Thomas and Mack and More

Coleman Proctor is heading to his eighth National Finals Rodeo come December.

If you ask Proctor, that means two things: he is getting old and he is living his childhood dream and then some.

As for his partner Logan Medlin, the two have been roping together for three years.

“Logan and I get along really well. We kind of balance each other really well, compliment what the other one is doing and we’re kind of in the same spot in life,” Proctor said “We both have a wife and kids, a common goal, we really want to win a World Title, both got great horses and we have a run that really works good.”

For that aformentioned horsepower in Las Vegas, Medlin has Drago and Cantina, Cantina is a young horse that Proctor says is phenomenal. For Proctor, Heisman is his equine partner of choice.

“Heisman really came into his own at the National Finals,” he said. “He makes that arena feel really big which is a hard thing because that left wall comes up so fast, but the angles he takes, he makes the arena feel really big and he allows me to take a pretty good start.”
