Tyler Wade and Wesley Thorp have earned over six figures at the National Finals Rodeo so far in five Go-Rounds. Their 3.6-second winning run in Round 5 also happened to tie the Go-Round record but it did not come without a risky heel shot.
“You just try to throw the best loop that you can and when it went up over his hips, it really made ther un shut down but I’m glad it stayed up there,” Thorp said.
After two no-times in Rounds 3 and 4, the duo bounced back in a true all or nothing style.
“We’ve done enough, we just stick to it and hope it works. We had a really good steer tonight and I got a really good start. I thought I messed it up and when he got him around the hips, it shut the run down a lot faster,” Wade said.
Wade and Thorp still lead the World Standings and it is Dustin Egusquiza and Levi Lord who are right behind them.
