Marty Yates and Ty Harris are both multi-time National Finals Rodeo tie-down ropers and while Harris has cinched a Go-Round win earlier in the week, Yates got the job done for the first time in Round 8.
Both cowboys were 7.3 seconds on Thursday night.
“I finally got the monkey off my back. It’s fun to be here,” Yates said.
For Harris, his start on Logan Bird’s Peso has made all the difference in him finding his way to the Winner’s Circle.
“It feels pretty easy when you get that start and get that roll... Glad that I could hit the barrier two nights in a row, have a feel right there and have a good calf and make a good run,” Harris said.
