The Broc Cresta Memorial Roping Is Back

The Broc Cresta Memorial Roping is set to take place on April 12 in Cottonwood, California. Cresta was a two-time National Finals Rodeo qualifier and a Resistol Rookie of the Year in 2007 before he passed away in July of 2012.

Jeff and Justin Davis have helped turn this roping into one of the biggest ropings in the country and they host it at their ranch. They have around 100 ropers in the open with big names that bring in plenty of spectators.

“Broc was one of the best ropers, to date, that any of us every knew… He was a great guy and respected by many for his horsemanship and roping skills. We’ve got such good compliments on that roping… we have scholarships that come out of that roping, it’s a big deal to a lot of guys,” Justin said.

The first roping was held in 2013 and throughout the years, they’ve given out more than $100,000 in scholarships.

This year makes 10 years since Cresta passed and makes it a special year to bring back the Broc Cresta Memorial Roping.
