The Cowboy Channel Rookie Roundup is one day away and the stock has been drawn. Pete Carr Pro Rodeo is the main stock contractor of the event but he has brought in other contractors to help and keep the playing field even for the rookies.
Bareback rider Bodee Lammers is matched up with Pete Carr’s Hometown Girl. This is a horse that was out at Rodeo Houston and San Angelo Rodeo and cowboys always have success on, it is a great match up come Friday. A.J. Ruth has a rematch with Smokey Mountain of Pete Carr’s and they said that if Ruth can spur the horse, it could be a lot of points. Waylon Bourgeois and United Pro Rodeo’s Jungle Cat should be an impressive showing as well. Bourgeois has had the success this year that rookies hope for.
In the saddle bronc riding, the competition is stacked. Cash Wilson is sitting No. 27 in the world and he crew Pete Carr’s Cliff’s Edge while Damian Brennan sits No. 22 in the world and he has Pin Cup of New Star Pro Rodeo. These two plus Statler Wright are going to have a lot of eyes on them, waiting and watching to see how they do in Cowtown Coliseum.
Idaho cowboy Riley Barg is matched up with Lancaster and Jones’ He Reigns in the bull riding. This is a bull that takes bull riders to the pay window and that is just what Barg is looking for. Dawson Gleaves and United Pro Rodeo’s Turbo will be one to watch as well.
All of the action kicks off at 1:00 PM CT on Friday, April 29 on the Cowboy Channel and the Cowboy Channel Plus or you can get your tickets here to catch the action live and in person.
