The Final Weekend of the Regular Season Brings the Tie-Down Ropers on the Bubble Head to Head

It is the final stretch to see just who will back into the box at the Thomas and Mack.

The end of the 2024 regular season is near the fight for the Top 15 finish in the tie-down roping will be nothing short of astonishing. Veterans and the No. 1 rookie will battle it out in Sioux Falls to keep their NFR dreams front and center.

No. 11 Zack Jongbloed, $116,630

Jongbloed placed in a Go-Round at the Pendleton Round-Up to make his most recent pay day over $4,500 and leave him just outside of the Top 10.

No. 12 Joel Harris, $112,860

Harris is looking at his first National Finals Rodeo qualification and success at the North Dakota Roughrider Cup just might have been what locked it in for him.

No. 13 Quade Hiatt, $101,980

Hiatt is in a vulnerable position as he is not at the Governor’s Cup and only $5,000 stands between him and the No. 16 hole in the World.

No. 14 Cole Clemons, $101,283

Clemons has locked in the Resistol Rookie of the Year title but a slow September has brought little momentum his way going into the Governor’s Cup where even a Go-Round win could push him off the bubble.

No. 15 Marocs Costa, $99,338

The World Champion is looking for a return to Las Vegas and cashing in at the Pendleton Rouond-Up kept that alive. Costa is only $4,000 above the No. 16 cowboy going into the Final weekend.

No. 16 Hunter Herrin, $95,999

It is crunch time for Herrin at the Governor’s Cup. The 13-time NFR tie-down roper can afford no mistakes if he wants to burst the bubble in to the Top 15.

No. 17 Bryce Derrer, $92,929

Derrer’s rookie season was one for the books as he only trails Clemons by $8,000 for the title. He placed in the Average at the West Texas Fair and Rodeo and will end his season just outside of the Top 15.

No. 18 Brushton Minton, $92,585

Minton was looking for a second consecutive NFR qualification and it looks like he will fall just short of that.

No. 19 Macon Murphy, $90,670

Murphy picked up a check after placing in the North Dakota Roughrider Cup with a 9.1-second run. He was second at the New Mexico State Fair and Rodeo to bring his season earnings to over $90,000.

No. 20 Luke Potter, $87,432

A third-place check at the North Dakota Roughrider Cup put Potter into the Top 20 setting him up for the Winter Rodeos in 2025.
