From the NFR Tailgate Party, Pam Minick sits down with the legendary All-Around World Champion Chris Lybbert.
They discussed how he got his start, his championships, and the 2020 Wrangler NFR.
Lybbert joined the PRCA back in 1976. He competed in both tie-down and steer wrestling.
He qualified for the NFR eight times for tie-down roping, consecutively from 1979 to 1984 and then in 1986 and 1989. He also qualified in steer wrestling in 1979, 1980, 1982, 1983, and 1986. In 1982 he was the first PRCA athlete to earn six figures before heading into the NFR.
He won the all-around category in 1982, and a world title for tie-down in 1986. He was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 2006.
