What size fan do I need?
Great question. To determine the right size fan for your space, all we’ll need to know are the room dimensions, ceiling pitch or slope, etc. Our most popular Windmill Ceiling Fan sizes are our 60—and 72-inch Patriot Fans.
Can the fans go outside? What about wind?
How do I choose a finish for my Windmill Ceiling Fan?
Great question! We can help. We often chat with customers throughout the fan design process. Sending us a photo of your room would be very helpful if there are elements of the space that you want to match. If you are currently building, no worries. You can send us a photo of house plans or fixtures. We can make recommendations on finishes to look at together based on the colors and style you are looking for. Some of our most popular finishes are the Cattleman, Royston Turquoise, and Train Station.
How much air does it move?
A lot. The technical answer is that the Patriot is CFM up to 4500 and 6000 for the American. CFM is an indicator of air movement per cubic inch. Our Mill Ceiling Fans are designed to work with your central heat and air to help you work more efficiently.
Our iconic fan blade design was created to move slower because it has so many more blades than a typical ceiling fan. For example, our 52-inch fan looks bigger than many other 52-inch ceiling fans because we have 18 blades, while typical ceiling fans have 4 to 5.
After placing an order, how long until it ships?
Typically, it takes 4-6 weeks because custom-made and hand-crafted in busy seasons can take up to 8-10 weeks. After you design and place the order for your fan, we build it, assemble it, balance it, and test it (you’ll also receive photos of your fan along the way ) before packing and shipping it.
Then, we remove the blades, number each blade, and package them carefully so that when you open your Windmill Ceiling Fan box, you can attach the blades in the correct order and get the same balanced effect.
Can a light kit be attached to the fan?
YES! We have two different lighting options, Uplight and Downlight:
- The Uplight is exquisitely designed to illuminate the ceiling above your Windmill Ceiling Fan and really showcase vaulted ceilings, custom beams, and other intricate detailing of your space! The Up Light has one LED strip, 48 Watts (a second strip can be requested), is Dimmable, Waterproof, and 4200 Kelvin Daywhite.
- The Downlight is perfectly designed to light up the room below. The downlight for the Windmill Ceiling Fan is a fabulous choice if you want additional light in the room where your fan will be. The light has a variety of ambiance. The downlight is only available on the patriot fan.
How can you accessorize/customize a Windmill Ceiling Fans?
All of our Windmill Ceiling Fans are custom creations designed with each client. We’ve included ranch brands, tail vanes, painted tips, and custom finishes matching cars, furniture, and more, which are our specialties. Some of the more recent additions are feathers and embossed leather motor coverings
Can I install a Windmill Ceiling Fan in a Business location?
Yes, we have had clients in the past put fans in airplane hangars, barns, lobbies, bars, furniture stores, corporate offices, and more.
After you order your fan, we build, assemble, balance, and test it before packing and shipping. Then, we remove the blades, number each blade, and package them up safely. The motor and frame are one piece. The blades are numbered so that when you open your Windmill Ceiling Fan box, you can attach them in the correct order and get the same balanced effect. You can see our fans in person in the Cowboy Channel Bar!
Can I add a logo or ranch brand to a fan?
Can I custom order any size down rod that we need?
Yes, you can order a custom downrod. Custom downrods are $1 per inch, and any size downrod per inch is possible. We’ve done 70 inches as the longest downrod to date, but longer is possible. We’ve done a 20-foot one in the past, but beyond 70 inches, it would need to ship separately.
Can the Windmill Ceiling Fan be used on a sloped ceiling?
Yes, the fan can accommodate a 25-degree slope without any modification. However, if you have a greater slope, we will need to make some modifications. We do have a different mount option available.
Is there a showroom where I can touch, test out, and look at different fans?
Yes, we do in Pilot Point, Texas!
Even better news is that we will be attending The Cowboy Channel’s Cowboy Christmas this year. From December 5th to 14th, you can experience our fans live and in person at booth #831 in the Las Vegas Convention Center. You can read more about our NFR sponsorship and The Cowboy Channel’s Cowboy Christmas event here.
