The Colorado native was solid on both of his runs at the National Western

JD McCuistion made two runs in the 9s to advance in first place in the tie-down roping in Bracket 4 at the National Western.

McCuistion was 9.3 seconds to win Round 1 and followed it up with a similar time, 9.4, to take second in Round 2.

“It’s a hometowner right here, so it gets a little extra loud and gives good vibes,” the Colorado cowboy said after his Round 1 win. “Performances like today really make you get a lot of your confidence in your horses.”
