Tie-Down Roper JD McCuistion Wins Round 1, Takes Second in Round 2 of Bracket 4 in Denver

The Colorado native was solid on both of his runs at the National Western

JD McCuistion made two runs in the 9s to advance in first place in the tie-down roping in Bracket 4 at the National Western.

McCuistion was 9.3 seconds to win Round 1 and followed it up with a similar time, 9.4, to take second in Round 2.

“It’s a hometowner right here, so it gets a little extra loud and gives good vibes,” the Colorado cowboy said after his Round 1 win. “Performances like today really make you get a lot of your confidence in your horses.”

Bernard Girard and Cash Fuesz also advanced to Saturday’s Semifinals out of Bracket 4.
