Tie-Down Roper Riley Pruitt Wins Second San Antonio Semifinal with Fastest Run of Rodeo

Riley Pruitt was the winner of the tie-down roping Friday night with a 7.1 second run, the fastest so far at this year’s San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.

Pruitt said afterward his new horse Caddie has renewed his love for tie-down roping.

“It’s all him, he does his job perfect every time,” Pruitt said. “Finally, made a run in here without a mistake.”

Pruitt was in the Top 10 in the world standings entering this weekend and will be joined in the Finals by Haven Meged, John Douch, Tuf Cooper and Stetson Vest. All four cowboys in the Top 4 were 8.1 seconds or faster.
