Ryan Jarrett, who has now qualified for the NFR 14 times, took a different path to his No. 12 spot in the PRCA World Standings. He was one of two cowboys in the field this year with just one rodeo win, which came in June at the Days of Old West Rodeo in Utah.
Jarrett won close to $30,000 from July 9-31 which made up about a third of the $92,432 he earned in the regular season. Most of that money came from two of the world’s most prestigious rodeos, The Calgary Stampede and Cheyenne Frontier Days.
From July 9-18, Jarrett won $14,500 at The Calgary Stampede and registered three times faster than 8 seconds there. He won the Wild Card with a 6.7-second run.
The very next week in Cheyenne, Jarrett placed in the first three rounds and banked over $5,000.

Between Cheyenne and Calgary, Jarrett managed to find time to win $7,591 from a second place finish at Ogden Pioneer Days (Utah) and collected checks at Fiesta Days Rodeo (Utah) and Snake River Stampede (Idaho).
It was not just a three-week push that lead the Okie to another trip to Las Vegas. Jarrett had several other bright moments in 2021.
In April, he won a Go-Round at the Ram National Circuit Finals with a 7.8-second run and he finished second in the Average at Guymon Pioneer Days in May. He also won the Third Round with an 8.1-second run and team roped there alongside Marty Yates to successfully defend his All-Around title.
JARRETT IN GUYMON
Jarrett has been to the NFR in the tie-down roping 13 times in his career and won the Average in 2005. He has placed in four rounds in each of his last two NFR appearances (2018, 2020) and tied all 10 at Globe Life Field in 2020. He could clear $2.5 million in career earnings in Las Vegas this December.
