Tilden Hooper Wins Back-to-Back American Rodeo Championships on Frontier’s Gun Fire

For the second consecutive year, the American Rodeo’s bareback riding came down to matchup between Tilden Hooper and Gun Fire and Hooper delivered once again, this time for 91 points.

“Man, that is an awesome horse, when she turns back like that that’s just the way we want it to feel,” Hooper said. “The pressure isn’t quite what’d you think here.....This is what we dream about.”

Hooper was the last cowboy out in the four-man Shootout Round and had two 90 point rides to beat, a 90-pointer by Jess Pope on Top Notch and a 90.5 from reigning World Champion Kaycee Feild on Agent Lynx.

Hooper collected $100,000 for his win while Feild and Pope got $25,000 and $10,000 respectively.

“I don’t compliment (Kaycee) a lot, but everybody here would be lucky to have a friend like him,” Hooper said.

Last year, Hooper won with 90.5 points.
