The bareback in San Angelo last night started with a bang and ended with one. The first cowboy out was Tim Murphy and he set the bar at 84 points and nobody could match him until Caleb Bennett, the last bareback rider of the night. Murphy and Bennett tied for the No. 6 spot.

It was a rematch for Murphy and he got the best of the mare last night.

“She bucked me off at the Circuit Finals this year and had to get some pay back, sure enough,” Murphy said on Knight Mare of Championship Rodeo.

Bennett came into San Angelo with some momentum from Rodeo Austin after having a rough winter run and it paid off.

“It feels awesome… I’ve been picking it up here lately, been drawing good horses and making them work out for me… Let’s keep the ball rolling,” Bennett said.

Both Murphy and Bennett moved on to the Final Round of San Angelo.
