Jake Clay and Tanner Braden teamed up in Claremore, Oklahoma this weekend to rope fast and get a win. Although storms came through to try and put a damper on the Will Rogers Stampede, Clay and Braden’s success landed them the title of Timed Event Athlete of the Week.

A time of 3.9 was the lucky number in multiple timed events, and it was the time that got the job done for Clay and Braden. The duo claimed the win by over half a second with the No. 2 team stopping the clock at 4.5 seconds.

It was a $3,000 for Clay and Braden to add to their 2024 season earnings. Clay now sits as the No. 12 ranked header in the World and Braden has cracked into the Top 15 coming in at No. 14.

Both cowboys were not roping with their primary partner in Claremore as Clay has been with Trey Yates for much of the season while Braden has roped behind Andrew Ward and Corey Kidd this season. For Clay, this was his second win of the season while it was Braden’s first.

With success like this, Clay and Braden may need to team up more often but for now, the Will Rogers Stampede is theirs.
