Tristen Hutchings had a breakout year last season after finishing third in the PRCA World Standings and earning just under $380,000, much of that thanks to his four Go-Round wins at his first career NFR in December.
He followed that up with a great 2023 Regular Season, earning over $180,000 and finishing No. 4 in the PRCA World Standings.
BIGGEST PAYDAYS
Kitsap Stampede Xtreme Bulls (Washington), $12,620
Hutchings had a great showing at the Kitsap Stampede Xtreme Bulls where he was marked 89 points on Big Stone Rodeo’s Hostile to get the win. Hutchings beat out fellow NFR qualifier Cullen Telfer by half-a-point for the win.
Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo, $12,000
The trip to Salt Lake City was part of a lucrative trip to Utah as it came the same weekend as has Fiest Days win. At the Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo, Hutchings was the only cowboy to ride in his Qualifying Round performance and then went 86.5 points in the Finals to take second in the event.
Fiesta Days Rodeo, $11,750
The highest marked ride of the season for Hutchings came at the Fiesta Days Rodeo where he was marked 91.5 points on Frontier Rodeo’s Front & Center. It was one of three 90+ Point Rides on the year for 90+ Point Rides on the year for him.
HIGHEST MARKED RIDES
Crystal Springs Rodeo Xtreme Bull (South Dakota), 90 Points
Hutchings had strong showings throughout the season at Xtreme Bulls events and that was no different in Crystal Springs. Hetook the rodeo with a 90-point ride on Summertime Blues and earned just over $4,000. Hutchings ended up fifth in the X Bulls Standings for the year.
NOTABLE WINS
Red Bluff Round-Up (California), 90 Points
Hutchings rode Dirty Dave of Big Stone Rodeo to victory as part of April’s California Swing. It was his first PRCA Playoff Series win of the year and it earned him $7,700.
Dodge City Roundup Xtreme Bulls (Kansas), 88.5 points
On the first day of August, Hutchings won the Dodge City Xtreme Bulls with an 88.5-point ride on Jackpot of Frontier Rodeo. He earned over $4,500 with the ride and continued his dominance of Xtreme Bulls events.
War Bonnett Round-Up (Idaho), 86.5 Points
Just four days after the Dodge City Xtreme Bulls, Hutchings picked up a win in his home state with an 86.5-point ride. He would follow it up with another win at the Jerome County Fair and Rodeo (Idaho) just two days later to give him three wins from Aug. 1-7.
