Veteran Steer Wrestler Cody Cassidy Chipping Away With Round 3 Win at CFR

Cody Cassidy entered his 17th CFR as an alternate, but after a Round 3 win, he leads the Average and continue to make the most of the late opportunity.

He was 3.6 seconds on Friday night to bring his three-head total 12 seconds flat.

“It’s not over until it’s over and a I got a long way to go to catch some other guys,” he said. “I’m going to keep going at ‘em every night, hopefully I keep drawing good every night and let the chips fall where they may.”

Cassidy has now cut the gap between him and No. 1 (now Scott Guenthner) from $16,000 down to about $12,000, and that’s without factoring the CFR Average.

Cassidy’s quest for seventh Canadian Championship continues with Rounds 4 and 5 on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+ at 1 PM CT/12 PM MT and 7 PM CT/6 PM MT on Saturday.
