WATCH: Tuf Cooper after winning in his “second home”

There is a lot of history in San Angelo for the Cooper family, who have been roping there for three generations.

On Friday, Tuf Cooper claimed the tie-down roping title at the San Angelo Rodeo with a time of 25.3 seconds on three head. Cooper won more than $11,000 over the weekend and is now within $5,000 of Shane Hanchey for the No. 1 spot in the World Standings.

“This is one of the biggest rodeos of the year, they upped the added money, it’s a blessing to compete in front of these awesome fans,” Cooper said. “This is cowboy country, specifically calf roping country out here.”
