Wenda Johnson Already Capitalizing in San Angelo

The San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo is already underway. The first performance takes place, Friday, April 1 but slack rounds for timed events have already taken place.

As far as barrel racing goes, Wenda Johnson’’s consistency and success in San Angelo is unmatched. Over the last three years, she has been a dominating force winning the qualifier in 2020 and finishing second overall. In 2021, she won the rodeo on the three head average cashing in more than $20,000.

This year, she has won the qualifier again with a 15.47 second run. Coming in hot behind Johnson is Dona Kay Rule with a 15.48 who finished behind Johnson in 2021.

It is runs like these for Johnson that set her up for more relaxed schedules during the summer run. There is a second round before the final round in San Angelo, the winner is crowned off a three head average.
