Will Lummus Picks Up a Win in Petco Park with San Diego Rodeo Title Coming His Way

Steer Wrestler Will Lummus adds another accolade to his name.

Will Lummus ended his 2024 sitting No. 2 in the World with all the momentum swinging his way. As we dive into the 2025 season, San Diego Rodeo was his first stop aftering ringing in the new year and he clinched the win.

“There’s a lot of really good friends that I have that let me get on some amazing horse and I was on Tyson here, ownder by Curtis Cassidy, and it’s his hazing horse too but Tucker Allen did all the hazing and there was actually five guys, out of 12, on Tyson here and we won first and second right there on him,” Lummus said.

When he looks back at his career, Lummus can confidently say that top tier horsepower has been a key component to his success. One thing Lummus has always done is keep a lead foot down, gunning for wins and big things. With the end of his career possibly coming up, Lummus has a game plan to stay hard at it and see what 2025 holds.

Lummus tied for third in both Rank Rounds in San Diego, first with a 4.3 and then again with a 4.5-second run. On Championship Sunday, he laid down a 4.2 to move on to the Four-Man Round where a blazing 3.5 locked in the win.
