Ryder Wright’s Championship Sunday at RodeoHouston was kicked started by Cervi Rodeo’s Womanizer but it was wrapped up after a ride off where he matched up with Mortician of Cervi Brothers.
“I had this horse in Nampa Short Round a few years ago, I was 88 on it, I think. So I knew he was going to give me a chance if I just did my part and luckily it all worked out,” Wright said.
Wright won by 5.5 points over Kolby Wanchuk but the ride off on Championship Sunday was electric. This is a win that Wright says has been a long time coming.
The three-time World Champion now sits No. 1 in the PRCA World Standings with a lead that surpasses $55,000 and he is headed into the final legs of the Texas Swing with huge momentum.
