Jodee Miller’s success in the Northwest has been steady and she added to it with an impressive trip out to Ellensburg, Washington and Filer, Idaho over Labor Day Weekend. A pair trips to the pay window made Miller your WPRA Athlete of the Week.
Her week got started with a second-place finish at the Magic Valley Stampede where Miller stopped the clock at 16.91 seconds to cash in on a $3,200 payday and gaining steam on her way into the weekend’s highest paying rodeo in Washington.
At the Ellensburg Rodeo, Miller picked up a check in Round 1 with a 17.50-second run before she blazed the fastest run of the weekend in Round 2. A few adjustments lead the Texas cowgirl clocking a 16.58-second run to get the Go-Round win by almost half a second.
In the Finals, Miller was a 17.46 to miss the money by just one tenth of a second, but it was fast enough to put her on top of the Average. On three runs, Miller was 51.54 with Emily Beisel being the next closest barrel racer with 51.68 seconds.
Although Miller is sitting No. 32 in the WPRA World Standings, this win should bump her inside the Top 30 with high paying rodeos still to come in the final weeks of the regular season. At the very least, Miller can secure her spot in the big 2025 Winter Rodeos as her summer success continues.
