Josie Conner has been gunning for an American Rodeo win and this past Saturday it finally came her way. Conner is your WPRA Athlete of the Week after sweeping Championship Saturday at Globe Life Field.
After finishing the 2024 season inside the Top 5 in the World, Conner secured a bye to the Ten Man Round of the American Rodeo. There, she roped the first sub-2-second run of the American Rodeo.
The Louisiana cowgirl bested her own time in the Final Four when she stopped the clock at 1.89 seconds, a full tenth of a second faster than her Ten Man time. The only other breakaway roper to stop the clock under two seconds was World Champion Martha Angelone.
Conner’s now added the American Rodeo title and the $100,000 prize that came with it to her growing list of accolades. She is your WPRA Athlete of the Week after staying at the top of her game at Globe Life Field.
