Kassie Mowry has surpassed the $150,000 mark for regular season earnings after a trip to Washington ended with two trips to the pay window. The No. 3 ranked barrel racer in the World is your WPRA Athlete of the Week.
Mowry has a trailer loaded with speed and stamina but the bay powerhouse that craves rodeo is a horse that she calls Jarvis. Mowry’s plans to earn another trip to Las Vegas boil down to Jarvis and the success he has had in the arena.
Their success continued this week when the duo swung up to Washington. Their highest individual pay day came by way of the Kitsap Stampede. The duo’s 16.84 would be the only sub 17-second run in Bremerton.
Mowry’s rodeo count is now at 24 after she also made a stop at the Horse Heaven Roundup Rodeo. This would be a stop that added $9,300 to her earnings after a clean sweep. Mowry and Jarvis are in a class of their own as they, once again, were the only sub 17-second run in the Long Round and the only cowgirl to join them in that club in the Short Go was Carlee Otero. A time of 33.78 on two runs made Mowry your Champion in Kennewick.
Mowry has figured out how to play the game with the horsepower she has been dealt and will enter her fifth National Finals Rodeo, third consecutive, with Jarvis gunning for Gold. Until then, Mowry claims her fourth WPRA Athlete of the Week title this season.
