Shelley Morgan has cinched the WPRA Athlete of the Week Title following her impressive performance in Bracket 1 of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.
Morgan and her equine partner Kiss secured the No. 1 spot in the qualifiers, earning $7,000 in the process. A victory in Round 1 with a time of 13.82 seconds set Morgan up for success as her momentum carried into Round 2 with a second-place finish. Morgan locked in another Go-Round win in Round 3 with a time of 13.88 seconds to further secure her position on the leader board.
Morgan is currently sitting at No. 18 in the WPRA World Standings and is likely to shift upwards with her success in San Antonio.
Joining Morgan in the Semifinals out of Bracket 1 are Dona Kay Rule, Ashley Castleberry and Emily Beisel.
