Young Gun Wacey Schalla Wins Two Events in the Second Performance of the Cheyenne Frontier Days

The 18-year-old cowboy is inching his way to the top of the All-Around World Standings as he dominates the bareback and bull riding at the Daddy of ‘em All.

The 18-year-old All-Around contender Wacey Schalla is taking the Cheyenne Frontier Days by the horns. The cowboy is on top, to say the least, after winning in both the bareback and bull riding on Sunday afternoon.

“Oh yeah, it was great,” he said about dominating both events at an outstanding rodeo like Cheyenne.

Schalla was teamed up with Rocky Mountain Rodeo’s bucking horse, Hondo, to kick off the Second Performance. He scored 83.5 points and took the lead over his college rodeo teammate Weston Timberman who came in second.

After getting warmed up in the bareback riding, Schalla ended the day with 84 points in the bull riding on Smith Pro Rodeos’ Island Time.

“The good thing about the bareback riding is it’ll get you pumped up. You don’t got to stretch much,” Schalla said with a winning grin on his face. “It worked out great in both events, so I am just blessed. Maybe I can do it again in the Semifinals.
