Young Roughstock Phenom Wacey Schalla Lands on Top of the San Antonio Leaderboard in the Bull Riding

Wacey Schalla is a rising star and his first out in San Antonio proves it.

Wacey Schalla nods his head at least twice at every rodeo he goes to since he rides both bareback horses and bulls. He kicked started his trip to the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo with a Go-Round win in the bull riding.

“You know, I didn’t even get into the bull riding last year, it was just the bareback riding. So when I’m getting into all these big rodeos now, so I’m just trying to make it count,” Schalla said.

The 85.5-point ride was thanks to a match up with Pickett Pro Rodeo’s Billy’s Hideaway, a bull that was unridden in the 2024 PRCA season. Schalla is now the second cowboy to make the eight on Billy’s Hideaway and it added $2,626 to his earnings as he gets set for Round 2.
