The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association named Dr. Benjamin Espy the 2021 PRCA Veterinarian of the Year.
Dr. Espy has been the veterinarian of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo for the past 25 years. During his time working and being alongside the PRCA, his work is not limited to the SASSR and everywhere he goes, Espy goes out of his way to do his job and keep the livestock happy and healthy.
“It’s nice to be recognized, it’s almost like confirmation that you did a good job. And for this award it’s not that you did a good job on one horse, it’s you did a good job on a thousand horses over the years,” Espy said.
Espy will be recognized for this prestigious award on the opening night of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, December 1, at the PRCA Awards Banquet.
