Zeke Thurston Captures Round 2 Win at Canadian Finals Rodeo

Zeke Thurston has made a career out of making the most of every horse he draws, and that was no different in Round 2 of the CFR where he was marked 86.75 to get the round win.

Thurston drew a young horse named Flying Karma, a five-year-old from the Calgary Stampede.

“What an amazing young horse. There’s a lot going on she kind of stumbled but it didn’t really phase her a lot. It’s really cool to get on those horses that you know are going to be around for a long time.”

Thurston is sitting in first place in the Canadian Standings with a lead of $6,000 after the win. In second place is Ben Andersen, who entered the CFR No. 1 while Layton Green is third.

Thurston’s Round 2 win puts him second behind Round 1 winner Logan Hay in total earnings among saddle bronc riders at the CFR so far.
