Stetson Wright is used to doing double duty and he’s also getting used to seeing our own Janie Johnson multiple times in a rodeo performance. Thursday afternoon at the Pendleton Round-Up was no different.

First, in saddle bronc riding, Wright rode Ragin’ Lunatic for 91 points, which was the highest marked ride of the rodeo.

“I don’t know if it was the grass that was in front of him, but he stayed a little closer to the chutes, he kicked out a little better and oh boy, he felt amazing,” he said.

He was not done there, however, in the bull riding, the reigning World Champion was 87 points on Longmire which was first in the performance and second for the Long Round in Pendleton.

Afterward, Wright said that he has been trying to take better care of himself and those two rides back-to-back proved his plan was working.

“I was still fired up by the time my bull ran into the chutes, it just continued on from there,” he said. “I’m feeling really good.”
